The Best of Edinburgh Tour

Discover the darkness and light of the real Edinburgh, a city with a split personality. 

On this bespoke private tour, you’ll take in the views and hear the history that made Edinburgh a Unesco world heritage site. We’ll wander the old town, from Holyrood to the castle, tracing the city’s roots. You’ll hear tales of royalty and rebellion, body snatchers and poltergeists, and meet the real Jekyll and Hyde. Before heading down past the Scott Monument, towards the New Town where you will enjoy a leisurely lunch.

After lunch, I will collect you by car and you can choose to explore Craigmillar Castle - Edinburgh’s other castle - or South Queensferry, home of our iconic Forth Bridge.

From there, we’ll wind our way back into the city and down to the magical Dean Village, before ending the day on Calton Hill, with the best view of Edinburgh - the Athens of the North.

Tours last 8-9 hours, with timings and specific places tailored to your own individual requirements. If you want to get up early or take in the city later in the day, we can make that happen.
